Our Leather Coloring & Finishing Process
In the world of fashion and accessories manufacturing, PU (polyurethane) leather is highly favored for its versatility, durability, and eco-friendly attributes. At the heart of its visual appeal lies the coloring process. High-quality coloring not only brings vibrant hues to belts and accessories but also ensures long-lasting colorfastness.
1. Mass Pigmentation (Solution Dyeing)
This is an integration technique performed during the raw material stage. High-concentration pigments or dyes are mixed directly into the liquid polyurethane resin before it solidifies. The primary advantage of this method is deep color penetration; even if the surface suffers minor abrasion during use, the base color remains intact.
2. Surface Coating: Spraying & Roller Coating
To achieve precise trendy shades or unique visual effects, surface coating technologies are applied. Spray coating utilizes automated spray guns to distribute fine color pastes evenly across the PU surface, making it ideal for matte, high-gloss, or metallic finishes. Roller coating, on the other hand, is perfect for large-scale continuous production, ensuring exceptional color consistency across batches.
3. Pattern Printing & Texturing
Modern B2B clients frequently require unique customized designs. Through gravure printing or digital printing, complex geometric patterns, vintage gradients, or realistic animal textures can be precisely replicated on the PU surface. A transparent protective top coat is then applied to lock in the color.
4. Eco-Friendliness & Compliance
As an export-focused manufacturer, sustainability is at the core of our coloring process. We strictly utilize water-based polyurethane color pastes that align with international safety standards. All colorants are free from APEO, AZO dyes, lead, and phthalates, fully complying with stringent EU environmental regulations.
